Guardian Angels are assigned to you by God from the moment of your conception to protect, guide, and intercede for you throughout your life.
Prayer to your Guardian Angel
Angel of God, my guardian dear,
To whom God’s love commits me here,
Ever this day, be at my side,
To light and guard,
Rule and guide.
Amen
Scripture (e.g., Matthew 18:10, Psalm 91:11–12) and the constant Tradition of the Church. The Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC 336) affirms that “from its beginning until death, human life is surrounded by their watchful care and intercession.” Angels are pure spirits, messengers of God, who never force the will but assist the soul toward salvation and help in both spiritual and temporal needs.
Catholics traditionally honor them on the Feast of the Guardian Angels (October 2) and often address a simple prayer to their own guardian angel.
